Those of you who don’t know me probably don’t know how much I love Dylan’s Candy Bar. I first visited Dylan’s Candy Bar when I went to New York as a 16th birthday surprise. That was when I fell in love. Dylan’s Candy Bar is the BIGGEST candy store in the world with a selection of over 7,000 different candies. Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph Lauren) opened the first store in 2001. One of the things I love most about the candy store is how candy becomes a form of art and creates a magical experience for kids and adults when they visit the store. I don’t know how anyone would not LOVE it!

Many people know that when I was attending BYU, I completed a summer internship with Dylan’s Candy Bar. I was studying marketing and thinking about where my dream place to intern would be and Dylan’s Candy Bar obviously came to mind. Somehow I happened to get the online marketing internship, moved to New York City for the summer and had the time of my life. Not only did I get some great experience in the e-commerce and candy industry, but had the nicest manager and interned along with people I am still friends with today. It was the best. And of course, it involved eating candy 24/7. Dylan herself even complimented me on my neon pink pants one day.

This past weekend, I took a trip out to NYC to visit a friend and visit Dylan’s Candy Bar for the first time since interning there! If you haven’t been, it is a must-do while in New York. The Color Your World section is my FAVORITE! Candy in all colors of the rainbow perfectly lined up. They pretty much have any candy imaginable. I loaded up my bulk bag with my favorites, including sour cherry bites, chocolate-covered Swedish fish, mint cookie bites, sour cherry gummies, sour stars, OMG’s (chocolate-covered graham crackers) and pink gummy fish. They are all SO dang good! I also love all of these fillables – they make the perfect gifts!

Ok, sorry for going on and on about this place but it truly is my favorite and will always hold a special place in my heart. Feel free to message me for any more information about Dylan’s Candy Bar or tips on visiting NYC!

I thought I’d share a little bit about one of my favorite treats – Chippers! My mom grew up in North Dakota close to a candy store called Widman’s Candy Company that she has gone to since she was little. Widman’s is famous for Chippers (chocolate covered potato chips made from potatoes grown right in the Red River Valley of North Dakota). My mom recently took a trip out there and was nice enough to bring me back a few boxes of chippers in Valentine colors! These are sooooo good. You have to try them to know! If you happen to visit North Dakota, these are a must-try.

I hope all of your Valentine’s Day is filled with lots of candy!
